    Pepp and Diggs Fined

    By Brinson | November 10, 2007

    Schrutebuck

We swear we’re going to write more re: just how f’ing dirty the Tennessee Titans are (some particulars that come to mind include KVDB going after Mittens back, Haynesworth doing something involving a cleat and a face last year, the ridiculous double penalty on us last week following a cheap shot on Pepp, and this gentleman named Pacman you may have heard of) but we just haven’t had time this week. We were working on upgrading Brahsome all week long and if you would like to check it out, by all means do - the new version looks pretty, pretty, preeeety sweet, if we do say so ourselves.

Anyway, the gist of this post is that Pepp and Diggs got screwed out of $ 5,000 for various reasons by the new regime commish’s office:

Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers and linebacker Na’il Diggs were fined $5,000 each by the NFL on Friday for actions during a loss to Tennessee.

Peppers hit tackle David Stewart in the face after the whistle. It was one of two personal fouls called against Peppers, who also was flagged for a late hit out of bounds.

Diggs was fined for a 15-yard taunting penalty he drew following Deke Cooper’s interception in the third quarter.

Okay, we suppose we back the taunting thing, but isn’t the 15 yard penalty enough? Doesn’t that get the message across? Or are we at one of those condescending roadblocks where a figure of authority starts saying things like “we’ll hit ‘em in the wallet - where it hurts the most” or something absurdly cliche like that?

However, the Peppers thing is absolute crap. And we’re getting screwed like five times out of it, assuming you can relate to Pepp’s wallet to a degree, since we already got a couple penalties tacked onto us for it in the first place.
