Romo Ruins Us Right Back
By Brinson | December 22, 2007

Did we really expect to win this game? Um, no. But a valiant effort by an undermanned and outgunned P-Cats team with the slimmest of slim chances tonight. For those of you that don’t have the NFL Network, you missed finding out that Steve Smith likes Matt Moore much, much, well, more. You also missed Julius Peppers missing his first start in 78 games. In addition, you failed to see Kris Jenkins take a narsty blow to the knee, DeAngelo Williams is officially better than DeShaun Foster and the NFL temporarily lost two of its best wide receivers as Terrell Owens and Smuff got hurt. 8-9 came back in the game, but you can expect Owens to shut it down for the season. Romo looked much, much better for those that care but this was the basest of moral victories for the Panthers - we actually have a decent base; it’s tough to remember that sometimes.
Williams has to be the starter heading into next year. He’s just better. We’ve backed Foster as long as we can to this point (it’s certainly not as stale as the Mittens rooting, but whatever) and his brief albeit amazing glimpses of brilliance just aren’t enough to warrant giving him the rock 20 times per game. We need to add a Michael Turner type in free agency if we can’t land Darren McFadden and we need to stay away from pulling trigger on a quarterback in the draft unless a stud drops. People will be clambering for one, but Fox won’t pull. Jerry Rich also came out before the game and said that under no circumstances would John Fox be leaving after this season. Anyone who thinks he should needs to just shut their piehole right now - losing Fox would be devastating; almost as devastating as watching him turn the Miami Dolphin franchise around under Bill Parcells.
Merry Christmas everyone. Special holiday wishes to the “stud” who dressed up as Jessica Simpson with a Tony Romo thumb, seen below…next to his wife. Yikes.
