    Recapping the Last Few Days

    By Brinson | March 11, 2008

sunset-waters.jpgMy distinct and heartfelt apologies for no posts recently. Being out of the country with little to no internet, while awesome, is not superb for blogging purposes. So a quick recap to catch you up and I’ll be back this weekend, ready for full steam to the NFL draft (I know, I know, I’m superb at building loyal readership with my consistency).

    Justin Hartwig
    - Released. What-evs. He was going to have to play RG because of Kalil and he didn’t want to do that, and the Cats probably didn’t want to do that, so while it kind of stinks, it kind of needed to be done. And it’s good for cap room.

    Landon Johnson
    - We signed him to a three year, 10 million dollar deal. He is one of the better free agent linebackers available. It was a huge signing. Couple of reasons: first, he’s a good player. And maybe more importantly, it got the fans to ease bac off of Hurney for his low scaled free agency “attack”. Good deal all around.

    Dwayne Jarrett
-DWI. Don’t drink and drive. In fact, don’t drink. Don’t drive. Just get your ass to the film room, D.

Back to the cap room thing from above, look, the free agency class this year was pretty stank, with the exception of a few big names (some of which were too old to be worth signing). We’re clearing up space, we’re going to have a good draft and a strong, competitive team this year, assuming Jake/Steve stay healthy and Peppers isn’t totally emotionless and cares about money. In the long run, this is a very good thing. See you all soon.
