Peppers on the Trading Block? Prabs.

    By Brinson | March 17, 2008

peppers1.jpgCourtesy of friend of Mittens (the blog that is), Moose, comes this link to ESPN’s saucy little rumor mill, where they point out that Julius Peppers was hanging out in Denver for the Nuggets game Sunday. Know what that means? PEPPERS IS GETTING TRADED TO THE BRONCOS!!! That’s right. Purportedly for Keary Colbert. Straight up.

Of course it doesn’t mean anything, technically, except for, as ITP points out, that Pepp wasn’t in camp for the start of the voluntary workout session. Know what? Who cares. Unless we extend him before the season starts, he’s going to be playing for a lot of money. Which means that he’s going to have a monster year. Also, the Cats stand absolutely nothing to gain from dealing Julius, unless it’s for five guys who are really good at blocking. And while Denver has those guys, generally, remember that a lot of the Broncos’ success is scheme based. *Irony alert or something* Plus, they actually need offensive line help. And headline help: look at this ridiculous teaser that the Rocky Mountain News dropped after seeing Peppers on the Nuggets sideline.

Don’t count on Peppers getting moved - apparently he’s been in Arizona doing off season workouts and that type of thing lends itself to hitting up a basketball game in Denver. Or maybe he’s just boys with AI and ‘Melo. That would be one hell of a playground 3 on 3 squad. Point being Peppers is a Cat next year, no questions asked.
