2008 NFL Draft Odds: Rashard Mendenhall

Check it, kids. From the indispensable Vegas Watch comes a link to Bodog’s team props leading up to the NFL draft. This particular one, and I’ll “release” more of them if I’m not feeling too lazy tonight, deals with the drafting of Rashard Mendenhall. Interestingly, the Cats are less favored to take him than Chicago or Detroit, despite drafting in front of them. In other words, Vegas believes that we’re inclined to take a lineman.

If you were a gambling type person, you probably wouldn’t want to touch either Detroit or Chicago — the payoff just isn’t there. But I think the Panthers are a pretty nice bet here. If Clady doesn’t fall to us, there’s no reason to think we won’t pull trigger on a running back and at 4:1, dems is pretty good odds.
