People Seem a Little Too High on the Saints This Year (Again)
By Brinson | July 8, 2008
Remember last year when the Saints were gonna be good? And Reggie Bush was going to run for 2,000 yards and catch another 30,000 passes? Do you? Yeaaaaah. About that. The Saints stunk it up. Bad. Like Mittens-almost-beat-them bad. But since they added a few defensive players to a highly, highly suspect squad (at least through the air), let’s go ahead and give them the division. As Saints Gab (via Canal Street Chronicles) points out, everyone else is:
Surprise! All four of the major NFL magazines, Athlon, Lindy’s, Pro-Football Weekly and Sporting News, picked the Saints to win the NFC South. It’s a surprise to many as both the Panthers and Bucs have had success in recent times and have added good talent recently.
Well, it’s not really surprising. People love to hate the Bucs (what’s to like, after all?) and no one believes that the Panthers will be good, despite us upgrading in almost every area and possibly getting Favre our quarterback getting healthy. Plus, please don’t discount the fact that Mittens is a straight team cancer. I’m predicting sub-.500 for the Giants this season. And I like playing the role of sleeper.
