Moose Says Chicago Is ‘Where Receivers Go to Die’
By Brinson | August 12, 2008
Thank you all for coming out, however we must announce that we have already confirmed our winner for quote of the year, 2008 edition. Mushin Muhammad, dropping this number (via Peter King, and inexplicably following two Favre quotes)
“That’s right. It’s where receivers go to die.”
–Carolina wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad on his time in Chicago. He returned to Carolina this offseason after a frustrating three-year run with the Bears
Good, good times. My compadre at FanHouse and Bears fan, Show, led me to this little ditty and he also appropriately defended the Bears on this one.
The quarterbacks are awful and sure Lovie Smith hasn’t really done anything worthwhile to change the situation, but Snyder’s point is that Moose was a horrible teammate in Chicago — which by all accounts is true, if you believe those lying thieving Bears. Of course, then again, you also have to remember who actually paid him all that money following his career year in Carolina. It was pretty obvious he wasn’t going to be that good, right? The rest of the country did know that, didn’t they? Because I distinctly recall cackling a little when I saw the signing.
Moral of the story: Carolina RULEEEEZ. Rex Grossman does not.
