Preseason Game 2 Recap: Iggles Beat Cats
By Brinson | August 15, 2008
There’s only so much you can take from a preseason game … and most of it’s in the first half. Too bad that entire first half was buried in rain. In good news, Richard Marshall’s rip of an Eagles would-be trick play was pretty B-A; the Iggles tried to flip a fake field goal and Marshall snared it for a nearly 80 yard runback.
Muhsin Muhammad, who I still love, showed why we really need Steve Smith back, getting plenty of attention from Brian Dawkins as he got stone cold rocked in the end zone and dropped a should have been easy touchdown pass.
DeAngelo Williams (8 carries, 32 yards) and Delhomme (9 of 14 with a pick)both looked pretty darn good, given the weather; just three yards on four carries for Jonathan Stewart.
Oh yeah, and Philly won. 24-13. But we shut them out in the first half, McNabb was a total non-factor and could have thrown 3-4 picks was it not so slick out there (yes, I know it does in fact go both ways, but I’m optimistic), causing our DBs to drop a bunch of freebies. So, really, score = unimportant.
