Panthers Pick Up McCown in Deal With Dolphins
By Brinson | August 29, 2008
The injury Thursday to Matt Moore — blatantly why we didn’t play anyone that we desperately need to play well immediately — creates a bit of a problem for us Cat fans. Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to be hurt too badly.
Medical tests today on Panthers backup quarterback Matt Moore’s injured left leg were negative and he’s listed as day-to-day, according to a team official.
That doesn’t mean we’re not going to make a play, what with Jake Delhomme still an injury risk. Fox Sports is reporting that we’ve made a deal for … wait for it … oh, right, it was in the title.
Josh McCown. Clearly about to be cut by the Dolphins. Now a Panther. Gracias, PFT.
There’s an argument that we could have still traded for Brett Favre or gotten Byron Leftwich via free agency and attempted to avoid this whole nightmarish, potentially injury filled situation. On the other hand, that would have shattered our whole team vibe, so, yeah. McCown. Stay healthy, Jake.
