Update: McCown Only Cost a Seventh Rounder
By Brinson | August 30, 2008
Let’s be clear: we’re not by any stretch of the imagination excited to have Josh McCown become a necessary part of the Panthers roster. But he’s still a manageable quarterback and he gives us someone better than this loser who can step in and play should both Jake Delhomme and Matt Moore be injured.
And apparently, he don’t cost nothing neither.
So what do the Miami Dolphins have to show for the $2.5 million signing bonus they paid to quarterback Josh McCown earlier this year?A seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft, from the Panthers.
Excellent. I’ll take that all day, because it’s exactly the type of thing we should have done last year when a) we realized David Carr was horrible and b) Vinny T was the only QB available.
