Early Humpday Injury Coverage
By Brinson | November 14, 2007
Sometimes, we quote stuff because we’re lazy. Oftentimes in fact. But other times, the quote is just so dead on and concise that there’s really no need to waste time and words superfluating what it says for you, like we’re doing right now:
Quarterbacks Vinny Testaverde and David Carr practiced on the same day for the first time since Oct. 26, prior to the Indianapolis game. And when they were done, Fox would not say which player would start at Green Bay Sunday, calling the decision ‘truly day to day.’
Ah. Good ole’ Foxy. He truly was. Day. To. Day. What? Off handed Charlton Heston references in a post about Vinny T? If you don’t enjoy that, just get out of our office. No, seriously. Go on, get.
Our guess for this weekend though? Testaverde starts Sunday. Mittens probably isn’t healthy enough and the Packers can be beat through the air, but not by dying ducks. So there’s that.
Also listed on the injury report (and/or not practicing, whatever you want to call it) were DeShaun Foster, Deke Cooper, Steve Smith and Damione Lewis. Smith will play and Foster will too, in all likelihood. As David Warner pointed out over at Fanhouse, John Fox isn’t exactly a huge fan of change.
Which is a shame, because it means that if Dennis Dixon or Matt Ryan “fall” (we use quotations to symbolize what could be the fifth pick, in which case they would be poor selections) to the Panthers, then Foxy isn’t likely to do anything about the quarterback mess. On the other hand…we did sign Mittens to a sizable deal. We did watch enough film of him getting back flopped more than Jenna Jamison from 2000 on and still decided he was the guy we wanted to back up Delhomme. No, we don’t know what we’re saying. It’s just Wednesday and we’re back to justifying why Mittens should start again this weekend is probably what’s going on here.
