Crumpler at the Combine
By Brinson | February 22, 2008
Alge Crumpler, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, is hanging out in Indy at the draft combine, planning to meet with teams that he might be interested in.
He said the meetings would begin today and listed seven teams with whom he might meet - Carolina, Buffalo, Detroit, Green Bay, Seattle, Tampa Bay and Tennessee.
Woo! Cats on the board. You gotta love that the Bucs and Cats are both listed in Crunk’s (can we call him that? Please?) top seven - obviously he wouldn’t mind playing against his old Falcons mate. We need him badly, folks. And I think there’s a pretty legit shot we can get him. First of all, Crunk is a North Carolina guy, went to high school at New Hanover and played for the (meh) Heels. Second, a decent tight end will sufficiently open up things for Steve Smith and, hopefully, Jake Delhomme by keeping teams honest from playing Smuff deep. Not to mention his presence might actually let the coaching staff develop a second f’ing wide receiver.
