Cats @ Cards Live Blog Third Quarter

    By Brinson | October 14, 2007

    Third Quarter

    15:00 - And we’re back.

14:30 - I love that they include Vinny for a fantasy update. At least someone knows he’s not starting anywhere.

14:10 - Steve Smith is such a monster. Snakes the ball back from Eric Green after what should have been an interception. Beast that Smuff. Beast.

13:30 - Two of eight for third downs….should be three of nine depending on the spot. Jeebus!!! I don’t know if it’s too early left to throw a flag…and yeah, I guess it is. Panthers punting. Baker kicks long…wooooo….and Breaston down at about the 25 with a flag. Needs to be a block in teh back. Word. 10 yard penalty. Timeout.

10:23 - Not the “prettiest” of series for the Saw. Oh well. Punt to the Cats. TO just scored in the game you’re watching. There’s a decent chance what I’m watching could go down as the worst game of the year. It’s in a doggie with last week’s San Fran-Baltimore game and the opening MNF SF-ARI game. Just painful. Any sort of drive would be nice here from our own 47. This is just embarrassing with the field position we’ve gotten.

10:18 - Vinny taking a shot!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh Smuff drops it and gets leveled by Adrian Wilson. FLAG! Yessir. Any way we can get em kids. Adrian Wilson is such a badass by the way.

9:50 - Foster rips off the third longest run of the day for five yards. Jeebus. Atta boy. Trying to move the chains with another four yard limp through that beasty Arizona defensive line. Shoudl get a measurement here. Nope. Third and one with DeAngelo in the backfield on third. Williams! Loose inside the red zone for a first down. Lil’ Big Game saves the TD.

8:21 - Oooooooooo. Williams just punked Adrian Wilson on a stiff arm for a nice run on a toss. Second and four.

7:48 - Steve Smith leaves some DB’s jock on the field with a sick move off the smoke and a Nature Boy type yell as he comes up just short of the first. Third and one and a nice cutback for Foster. First down inside the ten. Three points is not an option here, John.

6:30 - Vinny for Drew Carter incomplete. It does make total sense not to go straight to Steve Smith or the running game that’s been working. Absolutely just let Vinny work. Jeebus, Davidson.

6:20 - Second and goal and Foster gets nothing. Fantasy teams should care about this backfield. Of course, it shouldn’t matter if we can find Smuff. “Looking for Colbert” on third down. See….that’s a big problem. Why would this be happening? One pass to Drew Carter, one to Kerry Colbert and a Foster run on second down. Someone take away Jeff Davidson’s clipboard. And yes, Vinny is old, Ron.

5:38 - Another nice return for Breaston. Is he a poor man’s Leon Washington? Does anyone care? LT punched (another) one into the end zone to become the fifth all time leading TD scorer in NFL history.

5:32 - Rattay incomplete and on second down he takes a shot…..Nighthorse. That was such a horrible throw and in a flurry of dreads Fitzy went up and got a jump ball on Chris Gamble.

3:59 - Edge churns out his second straight four yarder but it’s called back by flags. I’m fairly certain there have been more penalties than offensive yards in this game. Gonna be an embarrassing L for someone.

3:30 - And craziness ensues - a nice throw by Rattay, but Green coughed it up and then Gamble lost the interception. Why don’t we just run that highlight on a video reel for the next 18 minutes?

3:30 - Rackers on for the field goal. 50 yard attempt….and buried. Cards 10, Cats 9. This is enthralling.

3:13 - I couldn’t have put it better myself, P-Funk. This game defines so many things that are bad about parity.

3:13 - How is it second and 15 without any time having elapsed. This is just impressive.

3:05 - Vinny to Colbert for a first down Cats!!!! And our announcers seem surprised that “we haven’t heard from” Kerry today. Really. I’m shocked we haven’t heard much from Dwayne Jarrett either. Or Nick Goings. Come on guys. Do your homework.

2:00 - Second and six and Vinny hits Colbert for another first down. Vinny, I think we need to talk. Things are moving a little too quickly for my tastes.

1:17 -Jeebus he’s going to Colbert again, this time dropped and almost picked.

1:04 - I’d ove to know why DeShaun is spinning in the…oh nevermind, he’s just getting casually rocked in teh backfield. More blocking less false starting Gross.

:34 - Third and eight…Vinny in a five step across the middle!! Drew Carter for the first down. Shhh. Someone might call this a drive, as the third quarter comes to a close.

Right HERE for the fourth quarter. Just fifteen minutes to go!!!

i didn’t buy into the dallas NE hype but this game is killing me. the offense is offensive in this battle of the back-up signed thursday leading the team to glory bowl.

      boring!
