« Previous EntriesOn the Meaninglessness of Draft Grades
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008I have all intention of combing through the tube-series to find a collection of draft grades and then posting it here, but for now, I want to touch on Mel Kiper’s comments with a slew of sports reporters from the other day, courtesy of ITP.
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. says he would have given [...]
2008 NFL Draft Odds: Rashard Mendenhall
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008Check it, kids. From the indispensable Vegas Watch comes a link to Bodog’s team props leading up to the NFL draft. This particular one, and I’ll “release” more of them if I’m not feeling too lazy tonight, deals with the drafting of Rashard Mendenhall. Interestingly, the Cats are less favored to take him than Chicago [...]
Panthers Sign D.J. Hackett
Monday, March 17th, 2008According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, via MDS at FanHouse, the Panthers have reached an agreement with wideout D.J. Hackett. Hackett had visited Cha-town and was rumored to make his decision today. It appears that decision has been made, and quite favorably for us.
The deal he’s getting is two years for 3.5 million [...]
Panthers Send Kris Jenkins to Jets for Draft Picks
Friday, February 29th, 2008There was lots of discussion about this in the previous few days, so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise, although it is mildly disappointing to find out that the Panthers have shipped defensive tackle and former Pro Bowler Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets for a third and fifth round draft pick.
It’s probably [...]
Cats Re-sign Brad Hoover
Friday, February 29th, 2008Thank you management. There’s not very many professional football players from my hometown and Brad Hoover is one of them (yes, I’m aware he’s technically probably from Thomasville; I’ll be ignoring that fact). He’s also one of the more stable and solid fullbacks in the league, while remaining pretty underappreciated. Because of that, the Cats [...]
Moose Signing Official
Friday, February 29th, 2008Oh yeah. I totally forgot to mention that Muhsin Muhammad has actually been signed by the Panthers. Chalk it up to all the hubbub surrounding the release of Mittens and the crotch adjusting rumors that Randy Moss might be landing in the Cackalack.
This is very good news. Moose, of course, had his career year [...]
Rumor-Rumor-Randy-Moss-To-Carolina
Thursday, February 28th, 2008Stan Olson makes it very clear at the end of his post that Randy Moss is likely not coming to Carolina to start alongside Steve Smith. How-EVA, the commentators suggesting that it’s not at least fun to think about are being ridiculous. Besides, ITP has an “insider source” (paging Pat Y…paging Pat Y) that says [...]
Mister Mittens Has Been Cut
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008In a day more full of mourning than the passing of Barbaro, David Carr has been cut from the Carolina Panthers. There are so many questions. And actually even more answers, oddly enough.
Will this blog live on? Eff and yes. There are like five (okay, two) blogs dedicated to Wayne Fontes.
Where did the blog go [...]
